Born of the collective goal of the Conference to develop an organization devoted to the modernization of higher education institutions, the Agency for Mutualization aids mutualization within the Conference, and is controlled by the president holding the majority of seats in the Board of directors.
With the perspective necessary to aid higher education institutions in their pursuit to offer the public information on administration and research, the Agency helps institutions develop their administration of finances, academics and human resources. The Agency also develops computer software such as Sifac (financial management), Apogée (academic management), Harpège (management of personnel) so that services destined for academic departments, seminaries, networks of exchange around the themes of leadership, resources, overtime etc. can be better provided.
In 1997, the Conference and the Agency created the Center of French Universities, to be used by all major figures of the university community.
